ROC SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

RADAR PRODUCTS GENERATOR (RPG)

             

Software Engineers play many roles in the development and maintenance of RPG software:

  • Works with NEXRAD users to incorporate new science and algorithms into the processing of raw radar data into weather products on the WSR-88D.
  • Works to improve software performance, efficiency, and maintainability through software process improvement and programming practices.
  • Works closely with ROC Systems Engineering to improve performance and security of existing hardware and accommodate changes required by hardware upgrades.
  • Works with ROC Documentation to update Technical Manuals, Software Instructions, and other RPG related documentation.
  • Works with ROC Configuration Management to incorporate changes to the WSR-88D software baseline.
