Clarification Of Software Note 12
This clarification pertains to the recently distributed software note:
NWS: EHB-6, Software Note 12
DoD: Memo-002
FAA: EEM Modification Handbook 6345.1 CHG 1, Chap 2
To: All RPG site ESAs and/or electronics technicians
Description: Adaptation Data, Product 20 Change in the Radar Product Generation (RPG)
Date of Issue: 11 February 1998
Scope: All RPG Sites
Background: This software note was written to include the NIDS users in the
transmission of Product 20 for Clear Air Mode. Product 20 is the lowest tilt of the 1.1
nautical mile (nmi), 248 nmi range, Base Reflectivity product.
Problem: The software note instructions neglect to have the ESA and/or electronics
technicians edit the storage time (STO TIM) for Product 20. This creates a "Low Entry
Limit Error" when attempting to end the edit session.
Solution: Add the following Step 4a. between Step 4 and Step 5:
4a. (UCP APP) |
Press the Tab key until the cursor is under the STO
TIM column, then enter 180 <Return> |
Base reflectivity product 20 will be stored for 180 minutes. |
The remainder of the instructions should be correct and complete. This correction should
prevent any errors that may be encountered while instituting this software note. Please
feel free to call the Hotline if you have any questions or comments.
